1. How do I find a Van/Reefer/Flat/LTL?

Please review our load searching tutorial. It will take only a few minutes and should help you learn how to find the load you need.

2. Why won't your computer accept my username or password?

Whenever you try to post or search you will have to enter a username and a password. The most common reason people cannot use the service is because they are not using the correct username or password.

Your username (your username and account number are the same thing) was given to you by phone, fax, or e-mail shortly after you signed up. Usernames are always eight characters. They begin with two or three letters, followed by four or five numbers, followed by one or two letters. For example, ZFT7490A or CD82068Z.

You chose your password when you signed up for the service. If you forget your password, please call us at 800-203-2540. Your password should be something easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess.

3. Where do I enter my username or password?

You don't need to look for a login screen. You will be prompted to enter your username and password when they are needed.

4. How do I change my account information?

If you ever need to change account information (such as your e-mail address, phone number, physical address, or any other information) please call us at 800-203-2540. You may also send e-mail to one of our customer service representatives at Support@Truckstop.com. Be sure to include your account number whenever you send us e-mail.

5. How current is the information I get from your web site?

Most of our services give you real time information. For example, if Company ABC posts an available load in New Mexico at 4:23 PM and you do a search for available loads in New Mexico at 4:24 PM you will find Company ABC's load.

While we encourage companies to delete loads that are no longer available this does not always happen. All loads are automatically deleted once their pick-up date has expired.

6. How do I import loads to Internet Truckstop®?

If you would like to import your loads to us, please send a sample file and request to imports@truckstop.com. Once approved for automatic importing, an import routine will be set up and activated soon thereafter. NOTE: Include your account number (username) when sending the sample file.

7. What web browser should I use?

We strongly recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer.

8. What kind of computer do I need?

Computer hardware requirements are minimal. As long as you can run Internet Explorer 6.0, you should have no problem using Internet Truckstop®. The most important thing is that you get a good Internet Service Provider.

9. Why do I have problems when I use AOL?

AOL (America OnLine) is unique because of the way they use proxy servers. A proxy server is simply a computer that sits between users and the Internet.

For example, when you request our home page, the request first goes to an AOL proxy server. AOL's proxy server then searches through its own memory to see if any other AOL users have already retrieved our home page. If another AOL user has already retrieved our home page, then the AOL proxy server will just give you a copy of the same page that it gave to them without ever communicating with one of our web servers.

This generally works fine for our home page, because the information on our home page rarely changes. Searching and posting, however, will not work unless you actually get through to our database. If you are not getting past AOL's proxy server, you will either get a message that the "server is busy, try again later," or you will just not be able to search or post.

The best time to use AOL is during non-peak hours (before 6 A.M., after 10 P.M. or on weekends). During these times you are more likely to get through to our web servers and less likely to get stopped at AOL's proxy server, but problems still occur all too often. The best solution is to use an Internet Service Provider that does not use proxy servers the way AOL does. A listing of ISPs can be found at thelist.internet.com.

12. Why does my search disappear when I click the Back button?

The best way to make changes in your search is to use the "Edit Search" button. This will save your search and let you make any changes you want.

13. Why are the radius search mileage and the route mileage so different?

Your search results are based on a straight line starting at the origin you entered and extending out the number of miles you entered in all directions. Your search results are not based on driving miles. When you click on the number in the "DIS FRM" column on the search results page you get driving miles. There may be a big difference.

14. Why do some of my search results not show?

When you use a short radius search, all the results come back. When you use a longer radius search, the search results don't show on the screen. This happens when you use a "high speed" dial up service. We compress our site already and your browser knows this. When the "high speed" dial up service compresses it a second time, your browser doesn't know it and it only unpacks it once. If you are using a "high speed" dial up service, ask the people you get the dial up service from how to turn off the "high speed" feature.
